CreateDebate
What are you trying to decide?

Welcome to the third edition of the CreateDebate newsletter. We have now been in public beta for almost a full month and we are growing quickly thanks to you! We have learned a lot about what you want thanks to your comments and suggestions for new features. We have been working very hard to bring you the features you request and want to hear more about what we can do to make CreateDebate even better. Please keep the suggestions coming and we will continue to crank out code as fast as we can.

Remember to check out The CreateDebate blog frequently for new feature announcements, tips for becoming a better debater, and general ruminations from life here at CreateDebate. If you love CreateDebate and think that you know people who would also enjoy the site, please invite them to the beta.

New Features

While you have been busy getting acquainted with CreateDebate and arguing your beliefs, we have been writing code like crazy to bring you some really cool new features.

Sort by Newest
Want to see where the latest action is on CreateDebate? Sort by "New Activity" on the main browse debates page and you'll see the debates that have people talking. This feature helps you to find debates with the newest arguments.

Once you're inside one of your favorite debates and you want to see the latest arguments, instead of having to sort through the timestamps you can now "Sort by Newest" in the debate submenu. This allows you to quickly see the latest arguments in a debate and also moves the arguments to the side that they are supporting. Want to see the argument that prompted a "Favor" or "Oppose"? Click the "Scroll to Parent" link and you will be taken immediately to the parent argument.

Want to see the latest action in your debates or on your arguments? Now you can easily find it directly from your profile under "New Activity Quick Glance". This new feature centralizes all of the new arguments that you care about directly on your user profile.

CreateDebate RSS feeds
Now it's easy for you to keep up with what's going on at CreateDebate from any RSS feed reader such as My Yahoo, iGoogle, Newsgator, and Firefox Live Bookmarks. Simply add the CreateDebate RSS feed to your favorite feed reader and get continuous updates on the Most Recent and Most Heated debates.

Delete Debates
Accidentally create a debate that you didn't want to? Accidentally create a duplicate debate? Well now you can delete the debate directly from the Moderator Panel.

Upcoming Features

Pick Your Side
In some of the Most Heated debates that have several "Favors" and "Opposes" for various arguments, it is hard to keep track of which side you're supporting. Soon you'll be able to pick what side you are arguing for rather than having CreateDebate choose for you. This way, you are always in control of what side your points go towards.

Argument Tagging
You asked for it and we listened! Soon you will be able to tag your arguments with keywords to categorize your argument. This will bring additional structure to the debates and will enable you to better distill the central points of the issue being debated.

Facebook Application
We are currently working on a Facebook application that will let you keep up to date on CreateDebate directly from Facebook. More information on this to come soon!

We are really excited to see the CreateDebate community growing so quickly. Please help us to spread the word however you can, you really do make a big difference! We will continue to do our best to make CreateDebate the best social debating site on the Internet.

Warm Regards,
The CreateDebate Team
